Managing Director of the Kaduna State Mining Development Company (KMDC), Engineer Shuaibu Kabir Bello

Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, has presented an Award of Outstanding Performance in Public Service to the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Mining Development Company (KMDC), Engineer Shuaibu Kabir Bello, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the development of the mining sector in the state.

The award, according to the NUJ, was unbiased and merit-based, stemming from Engr. Bello’s hard work, dedication, and visionary leadership that has brought the mining industry in Kaduna State to the limelight.

Under his stewardship, the sector has witnessed renewed visibility, strategic reforms, and growing investor interest, contributing significantly to economic growth and job creation.

Presenting the award, the NUJ Kaduna State Council commended Engr. Bello for his professionalism, transparency, and commitment to repositioning the mining industry, describing him as a public servant whose performance and impact are evident.

In his response, Engr. Shuaibu Kabir Bello called for stronger collaboration between stakeholders, particularly the media, to further echo and amplify the activities of the mining sector in Kaduna State, especially at a time when the industry is recording tremendous successes.

He expressed profound appreciation to the leadership of the NUJ Kaduna State Council for finding him worthy of what he described as a historic award, and pledged to redouble his efforts towards sustaining the growth and success of the mining sector in the state.

The NUJ noted that the recognition aligns with its mandate to promote excellence, accountability, and positive governance, while encouraging public office holders to remain focused on service delivery and impactful leadership.
