Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, has honoured Ambassador Malam Magaji Dan Aljannah with an Award of Outstanding Philanthropic Service in recognition of his consistent humanitarian efforts and contributions to the welfare of the less privileged.
The award was presented during activities marking the 2025 NUJ Press Week in Kaduna, an annual event that brings together media professionals, policymakers and stakeholders to reflect on the role of the press in national development.
The Press Week featured award presentations and a public lecture held at Arewa House, Kaduna.
According to the NUJ Kaduna State Council, the recognition of Ambassador Dan Aljannah aligns with the Union’s tradition of celebrating individuals who have distinguished themselves through selfless service to humanity and positive societal impact.
The Council noted that his philanthropic interventions, especially in supporting vulnerable persons and community-based initiatives, have earned him respect and admiration across Kaduna State and beyond.
The 2025 NUJ Press Week was held under the theme: “Media and the Kaduna Peace Model: Strengthening Dialogue, Security and Development in the North.”
The award presentation and public lecture were chaired by the former Chief of Defence Staff, General Martins Luther Agwai (Rtd), while the keynote lecture was delivered by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
The awards were presented by the National President of NUJ, Comrade Alhassan Yahya.

In his acceptance remarks, Ambassador Malam Magaji Dan Aljannah expressed appreciation to the NUJ Kaduna State Council for the honour, describing it as a motivation to intensify his humanitarian service.
He used the occasion to call on wealthy individuals and those in positions of influence to show compassion and empathy towards the masses, particularly in view of the prevailing economic hardships.
“This is a time when the privileged must pity the masses and extend a helping hand,” he said.
“When we support the poor and vulnerable, we contribute to peace, stability and development in our society.”
Ambassador Dan Aljannah pledged to do more in the area of philanthropy, assuring that he would expand his interventions to touch more lives.
He also commended the NUJ for its role in promoting accountability, social justice and positive values through responsible journalism.
The NUJ Kaduna State Council reaffirmed its commitment to using the Press Week platform to promote dialogue, recognise excellence and encourage collective responsibility towards building a peaceful and prosperous society.
