The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has commended security operatives for rescuing three of the five persons kidnapped by bandits on Sunday night in Zurin Mahauta village, Lakwaya town, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State.
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity Ismail Mudashir says Bandits suspected to be from neighbouring states stormed the village in the night and abducted five persons.
The statement also says Senator Barau urged the security operatives to go after the criminal and rescue the remaining two.
He said the actions of the marauding bandits are condemnable and that the criminals must be dealt with forthwith.
He added that the good news is that security operatives have rescued three of the five kidnapped persons, while urging the gallant officers to pursue the criminals and rescue the remaining victims.
Senator Barau, who is also the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, said the unfortunate incursion must be the last in the series of attacks on the peace-loving people.
He assured continued support for the security agencies, including the provision of logistics, to enhance their performance.
