Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD has been accused of betrayal by Federal Retirees, who said they have been maltreated over their accumulated benefits despite the provision of funds for the exercise.

The Chairman of the FRCN Ibadan Pensioners Association, Comrade Solomon Ogunbote, in a statement, also blamed the National Union of Pensioners for allegedly playing a hide-and-seek game with the Directorate, leading to payment delays since 2023.

Comrade Ogunbote noted that while the National Pension Commission has taken steps to pay retirees under the contributory pension scheme, PTAD prefers to issue meagre payments, which he said would no longer be tolerated.

He expressed delight over the resolve of the pensioners, including those in the Diaspora, to hold protests tomorrow at various centres to draw international attention to their plight caused by the insincerity of the relevant authorities, wondering what retirees had done to deserve such humiliation.

Meanwhile, Coordinator of Federal Pensioners Coalition, Comrade Mukaila Ogunbote has reminded the senior citizens of the need to join the protests and seek payment of thirty two thousand Naira pension increment and twenty-five thousand Naira Palliatives to cushion effect of fuel subsidy removal by the present administration
