Kaduna State House of Assembly has passed into law a bill establishing the State Agricultural Development Fund, 2025, to boost food production and enhance agricultural growth across the state.
The bill, titled “A Bill for a Law to Establish the Kaduna State Agricultural Development Fund for the Purpose of Providing Funding for Agricultural Development in Kaduna State and for Related Matters, 2025,” was passed after scaling through its third reading during plenary.
Presiding over the session, the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Henry Magaji, described the passage of the bill as a major milestone for the state’s agricultural sector.
He noted that the fund would serve as a reliable source of financing to improve food production and strengthen food security in the State.
Presenting the report, Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, Hon. Abdullahi Mohammed Bello (Maigana Constituency), explained that the initiative seeks to align the state’s agricultural framework with modern farming practices to ensure long-term sustainability and competitiveness.

According to him, the law will encourage the participation of private investors, cooperative societies, and other relevant bodies in agricultural production.
Hon. Bello added that the establishment of the fund will also attract support from non-governmental organizations and donor agencies, creating new opportunities for youth employment and promoting socio-economic development across Kaduna State.
