Kano State is currently leading all other states in the ongoing continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise, with a total of 59,203 physical registrations completed as of October 7, 2025.
This was disclosed in a progress report released by the Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Data Analysis, Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu.
According to the report, registration figures vary significantly across the 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.
Nassarawa LGA recorded the highest number of registrants with 2,442, followed closely by Kumbotso (2,333) and Bichi (2,328), reflecting strong turnout in urban areas with better access to registration centres.
Mid-performing LGAs include Dala (1,548), Gaya (1,542), Rimin Gado (1,570), and Ungogo (1,632), while most other LGAs, such as Ajingi, Bunkure, and Minjibir, reported between 1,000 and 1,200 registrations.
The report also identified the lowest performing LGAs as Rogo (147), Doguwa (536), and Tarauni (549).
Dr. Aliyu noted that the data indicates a clear urban advantage in voter registration, stressing the need for enhanced outreach and logistical support to boost participation in rural and underperforming areas.
