President of Kaduna Chambers of Commerce Mines and Agriculture Mr. Ishaya Idi has expressed concern over collapse of industries in the Northern geopolitical zone for decades.
Mr. Ishaya Idi in an interview in Kaduna was also dismayed over alleged abandonment of Economic and National Development plans promoted in the past including vision twenty ten and vision twenty-twenty expected to facilitate infrastructural development.
He recalled efforts by the first and second republic towards development of roads, railways and aviation sectors neglected by successive administrations which should be revised to meet public aspiration under the current democracy.
Mr. Ishaya Idi who blamed the current underdevelopment on poor leadership suggested review of the recruitment process of such leaders at all levels to promote good governance devoid of sentiments witnessed during the first republic which saw good-farming, patriotic and committed leaders.
The Kaduna Chamber of Commerce President expressed the hope that all hands would be on deck to salvage the deplorable situation and move the nation forward while calling for unity to secure the country for generations to come.
