Federal pensioners may suspend their proposed naked protests following appeals from prominent personalities across the country.

President of the FRCN Pensioners’ Union, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Jikamshi gave this indication in reaction to the payment of September new pension increase of thirty-two thousand Naira.

Alhaji Ibrahim Jikamshi who expressed concern over delayed payment of the arrears promised after receiving twenty billion Naira for the exercise, said a meeting of stakeholders would be held on Monday to decide the way forward.

The FRCN Pensioners’ President however warned that if after the two weeks’ notice given by the PTAD the arrears are not paid the naked protests would continue to press for the payment.

National Coordinator of the Federal Retirees Associations, Comrade Mukaila Ogunbote also stressed the need for suspension of protests to the directorate complete arrangement for such payment.
