Federal retired workers have vowed to stage a naked protest starting Tuesday next week over the delayed payment of their benefits, despite several assurances from the authorities.

A leading member of the Coalition of Federal Pensioners disclosed this in reaction to the alleged failure of relevant agencies to settle the entitlements, including the September pension, describing the situation as unfortunate.

Dupe Akindele, who blamed the Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation for the delay, stressed the need for all retirees to support the planned protest at the premises of the Ministry of Finance in Abuja.

The Comrade was dismayed that despite reported disbursement of over twenty billion naira for the payment confirmed by the pension transitional arrangement directorate no retiree got the money.

She reminded the directorate of the need to pay all outstanding arrears to the senior citizens to alleviate their sufferings and stop the protest.
