Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, describing the day as a celebration of unity, resilience, and sacrifice.
In a goodwill message released in Dutse, the Governor said the anniversary offers Nigerians an opportunity to reflect on the struggles of the nation’s founding fathers and to renew their commitment to peace, progress, and prosperity.
Governor Namadi noted that the sacrifices of the heroes past laid the foundation of the country and must continue to inspire citizens to uphold the ideals of unity, justice, and service to humanity.
He acknowledged the progress Nigeria has recorded despite its challenges, commending the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at strengthening the economy, improving security, and creating opportunities for citizens.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to complementing Federal Government efforts by prioritizing welfare programmes, investments in agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and empowerment of youth and women in Jigawa State.
He emphasized the importance of national unity, urging Nigerians to see diversity as a source of strength rather than division.
Governor Namadi also called on citizens to support government policies and programmes designed to promote sustainable development across the country.
He reminded Nigerians that the responsibility of building a prosperous nation rests on everyone, stressing that with unity, faith, and determination, the country can overcome its challenges.
“As we hoist the green and white flag today, let us reaffirm our collective resolve to fulfill the dream of a greater Nigeria,” the Governor declared.
