Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has praised the unity, resilience, and development of both Gombe and Nigeria as the state marks its 29th anniversary alongside the nation’s 65th Independence Day.

In a goodwill message signed by the Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House  Gombe, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to making Gombe a hub for investment and sustainable development, anchored on the state’s 10-Year Development Plan (DEVAGOM).

Alh Inuwa Yahaya highlighted notable achievements under his leadership, including improvements in healthcare, education, infrastructure, security, agriculture, industrialization, and governance reforms.

He stated that over 900 kilometres of roads have been constructed across all LGAs,many with solar-powered streetlights,while healthcare facilities and schools have been upgraded, with more classrooms built and teachers recruited.

The Governor said his administration has paid over ₦25 billion in gratuities, clearing long-standing pension arrears dating back to 2012.

He noted progress in tackling environmental issues and promoting economic growth through agribusiness and agro-livestock initiatives.

Governor Inuwa pledged to continue empowering youths, supporting farmers, and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents, urging citizens to remain united and patient as economic reforms unfold.

As Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, he called on Nigerians to celebrate the country’s progress with gratitude and to remain committed to peace, unity, and shared prosperity.
