As the world marks the 2025 International Day of Peace, the Arewa Cohesion for Peace, Unity and Development Initiative has called on all tiers of government and security agencies to strengthen intelligence efforts aimed at protecting the lives of citizens.

The Director-General of the group, Dr. Abdullahi Idris, made the call at a news conference in Kaduna.

He said the Initiative acknowledges the efforts being undertaken by Government and security agencies to restore peace in parts of the North.

Dr. Abdullahi Idris explained that the steps are commendable but remain insufficient in addressing the various forms of security challenges bedeviling the country

He stressed the need for security stakeholders in the country to avoid selfish interests and refrain from politicising security issues to the detriment of the general public.

Dr. Abdullahi Idris also reminded them of accountability before Allah of their stewardship in the hereafter.

The Director General therefore urged all tiers of Governments and security agencies to redouble their commitment and strategize intelligence reports swiftly to address the problem
