Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto UDUS is set to celebrate its 50th Anniversary and 42nd convocation in the institution’s history.
Briefing Newsmen, the Vice-Chancellor of UDUS, Professor Bashiru Garba, announced that one hundred and nineteen students graduated with first-class honours, among four thousand and twenty four graduands.
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the university’s growth and development over the past five decades, emphasizing its commitment to academic excellence, research, and community service.
He explained that among series of activities in the week long event, the university will confer honorary degrees on two distinguished personalities: Sheikh Muhammad Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa and former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruku Yahaya rtd , while emeritus status is to be bestowed on Professor Dejo Abdulrahman.
Prof. Bashiru Garba disclosed that the university would immortalized some notable individuals who have contributed significantly to the institution’s development.
