Jigawa State Government has declared Wednesday, 27th August 2025, as a work-free day in commemoration of the state’s 34th anniversary.

This was contained in a statement signed by the State Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri.

The government congratulated the people of Jigawa and urged them to use the day to pray for the state and Nigeria, as well as to thank Allah for His blessings and for the peaceful coexistence enjoyed in the state.

Jigawa State was created out of the old Kano State on August 27th, 1991, by former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
