The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria- DICON has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Consulting and Supply International-CSI Limited.

A statement by the Principal Information Officer of the DICON, Maria Sambo says the CSI is a leading distributor of tactical, military, shooting sports and law enforcement equipment based in Nigeria.

Speaking during the signing ceremony in Abuja, Director-General of the DICON, Major General Babatunde Alaya explained that in line with the DICON Act signed by President Bola Tinubu in November 2023, the Corporation was attracting both local and foreign investors.

He pointed out that the initiative aims to support the development of a military industrial complex focused on achieving self-sufficiency in military production and promoting exports.

The DG noted that the partnership with the DICON underscores a commitment to local defence production and technology transfer.

Major General Alaya therefore commended President Tinubu, Ministers of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs for their continuos guidance and support.

In a remark, the Chief Executive Officer of CSI, Mr Fadi Bashoun said the partnership would establish a state-of-the art production facility in the DICON complex for the production of ammunition and other advanced defence systems geared towards addressing the needs of the Armes forces of Nigeria and other security agencies.

According to the statement, the CSI supplies arms, ammunition, tactical gear, body armour, vehicles, security solutions among others.
