Federal Government has approved the payment of benefits to retired workers in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

A statement from the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD, signed by the Head of Corporate Communication, Mr. Gbenga Ajayi, said the approval followed a request by the Executive Secretary of the Directorate, Ms. Tololupe Odunnaiya.

According to the statement the President directed additional Budgetary Allocation for the full payment of New Pension Rates, adoption of Pension Harmonization Policy and provision of Health Insurance under the next year’s budget.

Mr. Gbenga Alayi pointed out that balance of Inherited Pension Liabilities of NITEL and MTEL Retirees and other parastatals will be included while current reforms would be implemented in phases in collaboration with relevant agencies.

A retired Civil Servant Alh. Dalhatu Ya’u Habib However, was dismayed that while parastatals retirees got Two Months arrears today others were yet to benefit and expressed support for Monday Protest over such injustice.
