Retired Federal Government workers across the country have been advised to unite and ensure a successful turnout for the planned protest on Monday over their ongoing hardships.

Chairman of the Pensioners Association at FRCN Ibadan, Mr. Solomon Ogunmola, gave the advice in response to opposition from some retirees, despite the strong commitment shown by the majority of senior citizens.

Comrade Solomon Ogunmola who expressed support for the protest stressed the need for retirees from other Unions to join the struggle expected to fight for injustice by relevant authorities for ulterior motives.

Comrade Maliki Aruwa and Pius Aneke also noted that the protest is necessary to pressure the Federal Government to redeem promises made in the past over the outstanding benefits and warned against politicization of the action.

Also commenting National President of the FRCN Pensioners Union, Alhaji Ibrahim Jikamshi suggested naming of coordinators for the protest to achieve desired objectives.
