Governor Umar Namadi has approved the appointment of Associate Professor Habeeba Adamu Kakudi as the new Rector of Jigawa State Polytechnic for Communication and Information Technology, Kazaure.

This was announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim.

Before her appointment, Kakudi was an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Bayero University, Kano.

She holds academic qualifications in Maths/Computer Science, Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Malaya, Malaysia.

Also appointed is Maji Ibrahim Abubakar as the new Provost of the Jigawa State College of Remedial and Advanced Studies, Babura, also known as JICORAS.

Until his new role, Maji Abubakar was a Chief Lecturer at Binyaminu Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia, with advanced academic qualifications in Mechanical and Industrial Manufacturing Engineering from universities in India and the United Kingdom.

Governor Namadi’s decision reflects his administration’s commitment to repositioning the education sector by appointing credible professionals into leadership roles.

The Secretary to the State Government emphasized that the appointments are based on merit, competence, and integrity.

He charged the new appointees to key into the administration’s educational transformation agenda and ensure efficient service delivery in their respective institutions.

All appointments take immediate effect.
