President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged traditional institutions across Nigeria to support government efforts in curbing the menace of insecurity in all parts of the country.
The President made the appeal in a message congratulating Senator Aliyu Ahmed Wadada on his turbanning as “Magajin Dangin Lafiyan Bare Bare” in Nasarawa State.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, Tinubu believes that traditional institutions, being closer to the people, have a pivotal role in ensuring the security of lives and property within their domains, as well as promoting the unity of their subjects, in line with the provisions of the Constitution.
He further stated that the prestigious traditional honour conferred on Senator Ahmad Wadada goes beyond a personal elevation.
It reflects his unwavering commitment to public service, community development, and the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
It is also a recognition of his sterling contributions to nation building in the distinguish legislative carrier and consistence advocacy for good governance equity and social development
” As you step in to this noble traditional role I trust your influence will further promote unity, peace and sustainable development within the Lafiya Emarate and accrose broader parts of the country hoping God guidance in the discharge of his duties”
Contributing on behalf of the National Assembly, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, described Senator Aliyu Ahmad Wadada as a great philanthropist who consistently champions the development of his constituency and the entire country.
He said the honour was well-deserved and timely, adding that it is not just for Senator Wadada alone, but for the entire National Assembly.
” The facts remains that Ahmad Wada is a philanthropist some one that has been working in day out , doing his best in Contributing for the development of his constituency and indeed entire country, a man of integrity and deserve the honour and believes is not for him alone but entire National Assembly”
However, in his response, the celebrant thanked Almighty Allah for making the honour possible. He also expressed deep gratitude to the Emir of Lafiyan Bare Bare, His Royal Highness Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (Rtd.), for the recognition, as well as to the entire council of Emirs and kingmakers of the emirate, and his colleagues in the National Assembly.
Senator Aliyu Ahmad Wadada further appreciated the Emir for his courage in remembering the past relationship between their parents and honouring him with the prestigious title of Magajin Dangin Lafiyan Bare Bare.
He prayed to Allah (SWT) to reward Emir Sidi Bage Muhammad and their forefathers, promising to continue serving the people diligently in whatever capacity he finds himself.
“Very few people remember their past, so for the Emir on his exalted royal seat to have remembered and chosen to honour a relationship that existed in the past, even though those involved have passed on, yet found me worthy of this honour as a way of reflecting on that bond, is truly commendable. May God reward him abundantly.”
Radio Nigeria Kaduna observed that the celebration was made more remarkable by the presence of many distinguished personalities, including the representative of the President, the Governors of Bauchi, Niger, and Nasarawa States, as well as politicians and well-wishers from within and outside the state, despite political differences.
