A philanthropist and Executive Director of Finance and Administration at the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Marketer, has donated 600 bags of maize to victims of banditry in Dutsinma Local Government Area as part of a welfare package.
The support was announced by the Chairman of the Dutsinma Progressive Forum, Dr. Sabiu Liyadi, during the distribution ceremony held at Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsinma, Katsina State.
The event also featured the forum’s endorsement of Governor Dikko Radda for a second term.
Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim said the gesture was aimed at complementing the government’s efforts toward providing relief materials to victims of insurgency in Dutsinma Local Government Area, Katsina State, and beyond.

According to him, he personally donated 600 bags of maize to be distributed to victims of banditry in the area, and urged others to emulate the gesture, noting that 600 beneficiaries were carefully selected.
He also called on those responsible for the distribution of the items, the Dutsinma Development Forum (DDF) to fear Allah and discharge their duties with sincerity and fairness.
Similarly, the member representing Dutsinma/Kurfi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Balele Dan Arewa, has provided financial support amounting to ₦6 million, with ₦10,000 allocated to each beneficiary, along with food items.
Dan Arewa, who was represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Alhaji Ali Rabiu Kurfi, stated that the initiative aims to ease the financial burden on people affected by such calamities and to support government policies and programmes, particularly in its efforts to combat banditry and related crimes.
He commended the effort of the Dutsinma Development Forum who
carefully selected the victims and beneficiaries adding that, the disbursement process is ongoing and urged them to be transparent.
Highlights of the event was the distribution of the commodities to the beneficiaries by the executive governor of the state Malam Dikko Umar Radda supported by the Executive Director Finance and Administration, Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority Malam Ibrahim Abubakar marketer and others.
