Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State has dismissed rumours suggesting he harbours vice presidential ambitions, affirming that his sole focus remains delivering on his mandate to serve the people of Katsina State.

Speaking during a working visit to Dutsinma Local Government Area, Governor Radda addressed the speculation, stating:

“I’ve seen posters and messages suggesting I’m pursuing another office. Let me be clear: I sought your mandate to serve as Governor of Katsina State, and that is my only focus.”

During the well-attended gathering, Governor Radda supervised the distribution of 600 bags of maize donated by philanthropist Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Marketer, as well as ₦10,000 cash each to 600 victims of insecurity, donated by Hon. Aminu Balele Dan Arewa, the Member representing Dutsinma/Kurfi Federal Constituency.

He praised the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum for organizing the compassion-driven initiative which demonstrated shared values and caring for one another and standing together through tough times.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace, he stated that security remains his top priority and that they are working tirelessly to restore lasting peace to Katsina.

He added that they would never make promises they cannot keep, and that their decisions will continue to be guided by sincerity and the fear of God.

Responding to community concerns, Governor Radda announced plans to extend the waterway project from Dutsin-Ma to Charanchi and other nearby areas as well as reconstruction of Gobirawa road in Kuki ward.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum, Dr. Sabi’u Liadi praised the governor’s humility and responsiveness, noting that, their endorsement was performance-based.

In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Dutsin-Ma Local Government, Kabir Abdussalam Shema, described Governor Radda as compassionate and courageous, adding, “Without hesitation, we endorse Your Excellency for a second term. We believe in continuity because we have seen tangible results.”
