Jigawa State Government has declared Friday, June 27, 2025, a work-free day to commemorate the beginning of the Islamic New Year, 1447 AH.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri.

According to the statement, the holiday is intended to give civil servants and residents the opportunity to fully participate in the spiritual and cultural observance of the new Islamic calendar year.

Alhaji Dagaceri urged workers and citizens to use the occasion to engage in prayers for continued peace and prosperity across Jigawa State.

He also emphasized the importance of reflecting on the values and teachings of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The government further called on the public to maintain law and order, and avoid any actions that could threaten the state’s peaceful coexistence.
