Retired workers of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) have expressed dismay over the payment of old pensions for last month, despite assurances to settle all outstanding debts.

The pensioners, who have started receiving meagre benefits, emphasized the need for full settlement of the arrears promised by the Federal Government to alleviate their suffering.

They reminded the Pension Transition Arrangement Directorate-PTAD of past promises to pay outstanding debt since Twenty-Nineteen to avoid protests scheduled by the pensioners unions over such inconsistencies.

One of the retirees Alhaji Shehu Abbas commended the leadership of the union branches for sustained efforts towards payment of the arrears as done in some states of the federation.

Alhaji Shehu Abbas was dismayed that PTD was yet to receive necessary funds for the exercise provided in the twenty-twenty-four to twenty-twenty-five budgets which should be investigated by the National Assembly as representatives of the people to justify democratic governance.
