Federal Government has once again been urged to prioritize the welfare of citizens in order to justify democratic governance in the country.

A former member of the National Assembly, Alhaji Abdulkadir Usman Global, renewed the appeal during a telephone interview in Abuja.

Alhaji Abdulkadir expressed particular concern over the continued delay in settling palliative arrears owed to retired workers, despite repeated assurances from the government over the years.

He stressed the need for payment of all outstanding benefits including workers wage awards to enable them celebrate this year’s eid-el Kabir next month.

The former legislator who called for prayers for the nation’s socio-economic development reminded Muslims of the need to fast and pray within the first ten days of Djul Hijjah for effective spiritual e-awakening and God’s blessings.
