The newly appointed Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development in Jigawa State, Ibrahim Garba Hannun Giwa, has appealed for the cooperation of staff to effectively implement sectoral goals.
He made the call while receiving the handover from his predecessor, Ahmed Garba MK, at the ministry’s headquarters in Dutse.
Hannun Giwa emphasized that the leadership change was a routine government decision aimed at fulfilling the aspirations of the people and ensuring the success of Governor Umar Namadi’s 12-point agenda.
He stressed that maximum cooperation from all ministry personnel was critical for meaningful progress.
The outgoing Commissioner, Ahmed Garba MK, expressed gratitude to Governor Namadi for the opportunity to serve, noting that he discharged his duties with dignity.
He urged staff to support his successor with equal commitment.
The change comes as part of a minor reshuffle in the State Executive Council affecting three commissioners. Hannun Giwa was redeployed from the Ministry of Water Resources, while Ahmed Garba MK now heads the Ministry of Land, Housing, and Urban Development.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Alhassan has taken over at the Ministry of Water Resources.
The handover ceremony marked a smooth transition, with officials expressing optimism about continuity and improved service delivery in the local government sector.
