The Director General of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, has received a team of inspectors from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and Max Air for an on-the-spot assessment of the board’s facilities.
In her address, the Duty Manager kano office, Mr Barnabas Anderson said, that the aim of the visit was to make on the spot assessment, confirm as well as ascertain the state Pilgrims board facilities among others.
He further explained that, the team assessed equipments, the preparation of the airlift of the state intending pilgrims, travel documents, passports and Hajj camp facilities.

He said, the first batch of 550 jigawa state intending pilgrims is expected to begin on 20th May, 2025, while the second batch will be airlifted to Saudi Arabia on 21st May 2025.
Mr Anderson expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness by the board.
Also speaking, the Director General of the Jigawa state pilgrims welfare board , Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo pointed out that, the numerous successes have been recorded so far on the preparedness for the 2025 hajj exercise in the state.
He reiterated the commitment of the state government in ensuring the welfare of the Jigawa state intending pilgrims both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Labbo commended NAHCON for the continued support and cooperation given to the board on activities for the success of this year’s exercise.
The team inspected Yakubu Gowon NYSC orientation camp in Fanisau and Muhammadu Sunusi International Airport.
Radio Nigeria reports that, the DG also inaugurated the Media team of the 2025 Hajj exercise in his office.
He called on the selected journalists covering this year’s operations to strictly maintain law and ethics of the profession while in the Holy Land
