The General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army Major General Ibikunle Ajose has advised youth in Barracks communities to embrace skills acquisition training for socio- security and economic development in the country.
The GOC gave the advice at the graduation ceremony of the 8 Division NA Officers Wive Association, Vocational Training Centre Sokoto state.
Represented by Deputy Chief of Staff and Logistics, Colonel Raphael Olugbenga Adeyemi, the GOC noted that Amid rapid technological advancements and shifting job markets, the race to stay relevant in the society hinged n skills acquisition
He added that learning vocational skills will significantly shortchanged youth restiveness in the societies.
In a her speech, the chairperson NAOWA 8 Division, Mrs. Meg Ndidi Ajose, wife of the GOC expressed her joy and praised the graduating students for their perseverance and commitment to self-development.
Represented by Mrs. Fatima Abass, the chairperson explained that the vocational training centre is working towards assisting the youth to become self-employed and transforming communities in the area.
Mrs. Ajose commented the instructors and administrators for their unwavering dedication to empowering both women and youths in the barracks and surrounding communities.
Radio Nigeria in Sokoto rreports that the graduands obtained their training from the department of fashion designing, catering, Bags making and makeup artist among others.
