The Chairman of Birnin Kudu Local Government Council, Alhaji Muhammad Uba Builder, has reaffirmed his commitment to fairness and integrity in promoting good governance in the administration of the local government.
He gave the assurance during the disbursement of fifty thousand naira each to 70 beneficiaries who participated in the wheat farming program initiated by the council.
According to him, 165 people were enrolled into the program out of which 70 youths are political Henchmen meant to transform their lives towards gainful activities as politics is not a profession but rather a system of government.
Alhaji Muhammad Uba Builder said the participants were provided with land, clearing, wheat seed and other logistics while they look after the farm up to harvesting level.
He said the political henchmen, being new to farming, were unable to record much success; Hence, there is a need to further support them with funds to engage in small-scale businesses, while the local government liaises with the Farmers and Herdsmen Board to secure one hectare of farmland for each of them to venture into rainy season farming.
The Chairman therefore, urged the people to dispel all forms of rumours, remain focused and prayed for leaders to enable them discharge their duties with fairness and justice.
Speaking on behalf of the political Henchmen, Usman Sarki and Bello Ajayi reaffirmed their readiness to protect the integrity of the state, local government Chairman and pledged to engage in gainful activities that will improve their economic status.
