Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has been advised to bow out of active politics to pave way for the emergence of younger generation of politicians.
Chairman Gombe Concerned PDP Youth, Mallam Jamilu Danjarida gave the advice while briefing newsmen in Gombe.
According to him, a graceful retirement will allow him to leave a legacy of service given the role he had played in strengthening the tenet of democracy in Nigeria.
He said being among the prominent politicians who helped in making the PDP to become a force to be reckoned with in Nigerian politics which is imperative for him to ensure that the party continues to remain relevant.
Mallam Jamilu Danjarida also stressed the need for the PDP to foster the environment that encourages the participation and advancement of younger leaders who are eager to embrace fresh ideas and build a stronger, more inclusive party.
He added that it was time for generational shift within the PDP, one that acknowledges the valuable contribution of people like Atiku Abubakar which will subsequently pave way for a revitalized political landscape in Nigeria.
