President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed grief over the passing of Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, the Galadiman Kano and senior kingmaker of the Kano Emirate.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated this in a statement on Wednesday.

Bayo Onanuga said Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, who had held a title holder since 1959, passed away at the age of 92 after a protracted illness.

He is survived by many children and grandchildren, including Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the Kano State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

President Tinubu described the late Galadiman Kano as a strong pillar of the traditional institution, whose contributions to its survival and development would be remembered far beyond Kano Emirate and Kano State.

The President extended his condolences to the government and people of Kano State, the Kano Emirate Council, and the bereaved family, praying to Allah to grant the late Galadima eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and to comfort his loved ones.
