Bayero University Kano (BUK) has launched an online system that allows students to access and print their end-of-session results digitally.

This innovative move marks the first time the institution has made results available through such a platform.

The Initiative was announced in a bulletin issued and signed by Deputy Registrar and Head of the Public Affairs Directorate, Lamara Garba Azare.

According to the university bulletin, the system developed by the myBUK Team allows students to retrieve results directly via the registration portal.

Result sheets will now clearly indicate any pending compulsory courses, streamlining academic tracking. However, final-year students must await Senate approval before accessing their results.

The 25th Student Union Government (SUG) Senator for the Faculty of Communication, Bilal Muhammad Bello, commended the development as “long overdue,” emphasizing its potential to “reduce student stress and eliminate delays in result processing.”

“This system empowers students to monitor their academic progress conveniently while eliminating the need for crowded queues at faculty and departmental notice boards”.

Reflecting on his tenure as the 24th SUG Senator representing the Department of Mass Communication, Bello noted,
“I advocated for online result accessibility during my time in the student parliament. Alhamdulillah, this vision is now a reality.”

Addressing concerns about reduced transparency, he urged peers to stay focused,
“While the shift from public display may affect some students’ motivation, I encourage everyone to remain diligent and committed to their studies.”
