Former Governor of Zamfara State and current Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Dr. Abdul’aziz Yari, has called on politicians and wealthy individuals to extend their acts of charity beyond the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking to journalists in his hometown, Talata Mafara, as part of his Sallah message, Yari emphasized the importance of continuing the culture of giving Zakkat, Sadaqah, and other forms of support to the less privileged throughout the year.

He highlighted the significance of sustained assistance, stressing that, charitable acts should not be limited to Ramadan alone.

Dr Yari reiterated that his commitment to the welfare of Zamfara State extends beyond his senatorial constituency.

When asked why his welfare initiatives benefit the entire state rather than just Zamfara West, he explained that, his tenure as a two-term governor has instilled a deep sense of responsibility toward all Zamfara residents.

“I served as the governor of this state for two terms, and I believe it would not be wise for me to ignore the people of Zamfara when it comes to welfare support. Though I was elected as a Senator for Zamfara West, my duty to serve extends to all citizens,” Yari stated.

He further expressed his belief that charity should not be confined to political or geographical boundaries.

“As a Muslim, I should not limit my Sadaqah (charity) to only my constituency. My aim is to seek the pleasure of Almighty Allah by assisting everyone, regardless of political affiliation,” he added.

During Ramadan, Yari demonstrated his commitment to philanthropy by donating 496 trucks of assorted grains to support the needy.

Dr Abdul’aziz Yari urged affluent individuals to emulate such gestures and contribute towards alleviating the suffering of the less privileged.

The former Governor also prayed for strength and good health for himself and other Muslims to witness future Ramadans.

“Let me first thank Almighty Allah, who in His infinite mercy has granted us the opportunity to witness this sacred month. Many started the fasting but could not complete it. We pray that He accepts our Ibadah and enables us to put into practice the lessons learned from this holy period to improve our lives,” Yari said.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for introducing welfare programs aimed at improving Nigerians’ living standards.

Dr Yari called on citizens to fully support the president’s efforts to move the country forward.

“On behalf of Zamfara APC members and the people of my Constituency, i extended warm congratulations to President Tinubu on his 73rd birthday. “We pray Almighty Allah grants him many more years in good health, prosperity, and wisdom to lead the country in the right direction. We will continue to pray for his success as our president,” he concluded”.
