Minna Residents And It’s Environs Faults Gov Bago Inability To Fulfil The Promises Made On Grains Subsidy.
Residents of Minna the Niger State capital and its environs have faulted Governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s inability to fulfilled his promise of selling grains to the people at a subsidized rate during the Ramadan fast.
Seventeen days in to the Ramadan fast, Niger lites are still waiting for the grains.
It could be recalled that the governor about ten days before the commencement of this year twenty twenty five Ramadan made the pledge and even emphasized with curses on any person that diverted the food items when the exercise begins.
It was reliably gathered that Governor Umar Bago revealed that about one thousand trailer trucks was earmarked for distribution to Niger state residents but to no avail.
Some of the residents in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Minna described as unfortunate such pronouncement from the Chief Security Officer of the state, when there are no proper arrangements on ground to execute the programme.
Most unfortunately, the timetable for the distribution as well as the prices of each grain to be sold aimed at crashing the price of food items per bag which includes; rice for N35,000, beans, millet and maize at N36,000 and beans at N46,500 within this Ramadan fast was made public.
Responding, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Bologi Ibrahim confirmed that the distribution of grains as promised is going on simultaneously across the twenty five Local Government Areas of Niger state stressing that Local Government Council’s Chairmen can attest to that fact.
Bologi Ibrahim maintained that Governor Umar Bago is a man of his words who never shy away from the promises he made however called on the people of the state to exercise patient as the government is relentless in ensuring its success, adding that his Boss always fulfilled his promises to the people and this will not be exceptional.
