Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that Governor Umar Namadi has approved the allocation of 54 Hajj seats to facilitators and Islamic preachers for the 2025 Hajj operations.

The Director General of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo stated this to Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Dutse, the state capital.

He said, the board has allocated 54 hajj seats to all local government facilitators as well as preachers for the forthcoming Hajj operations.

According to him, Governor Umar Namadi approved the seat allocation to enable the facilitators and preachers to guide the state intending pilgrims both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo said, the board initiated the gesture which is the first of its kind in Jigawa state.

He noted that, the facilitators and preachers which include both males and females were drawn based on merit from each of the 27 local government areas of the state.

The DG said, both the facilitators and preachers are mandated to train and educate prospective pilgrims on obligations, tenets and cardinal principles of the Hajj exercise which would give them the opportunity to know proper and acceptable hajj rites.

He noted that, proper orientation as well as educating the pilgrims would prepare them to conduct the Hajj in accordance with the teachings of Islam and be good ambassadors of the country.

He added that the daily orientation exercise for the 2025 intending pilgrims will continue in all the designated centres across the state after Ramadan.

Ahmed Labbo said, the board will soon commence the distribution of travelling kits for its intending pilgrims for 2025 Hajj exercise.

According to him, the distribution of travelling kits which include uniforms and bags is expected to be begin soon at the board’s headquarters and designated centres across the twenty seven local government areas of the state.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo further explained that, the board will soon distribute 8kg bags and uniforms to center officers for onward distribution to prospective pilgrims.

He further explained that, the flight for the airlift of this year’s state intending pilgrims is scheduled in May 2025 by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON.

Labbo pointed out that, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON has assigned Max Air to airlift the state pilgrims to Saudi Arabia via Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi international airport.

The Pilgrims Boss commended Governor Umar Namadi for the support and cooperation given to the board at all times.
