The Management of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital says all efforts are being put in place to restore the smooth functioning of the hospital’s Oxygen Plant.
According to the Assistant Director, Biomedical/ Chairman, Oxygen Plant Maintenance Committee, Engineer Ahmed Usman on behalf of the Management, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between the hospital and a Medical Equipment company for the Plant servicing maintenance for a period of 2 years.
He explained that all arrangements and payments were made in January this year for the take off, but due to the end of year/ new year holidays by Companies there was delay in the supply of some parts particularly the air compressor, which arrived on Monday 10th March, 2025.
He further stated that the Oxygen generator has already been serviced as at yesterday, remaining only the compressor and Oxygen buster, which are in progress.
Meanwhile, during the waiting period, the hospital Management has been out sourcing the Oxygen elsewhere particularly from a Company, as the Plants in other hospitals in the State are awaiting Service also.
The Assistant Director however appreciated the understanding and cooperation of it’s patients & entire hospital community.
