National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje has revealed that he inherited ₦8.98 billion in legal liabilities upon assuming office.
He made this disclosure on Wednesday at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
Ganduje stated that the debt arose from legal expenses incurred during pre-election disputes, election petitions, and appeals for legislative, governorship, and presidential elections.
Addressing party stakeholders—including President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and APC governors—Ganduje also advocated for a new APC national secretariat, requesting the president’s intervention to secure land for the project.
As part of his leadership strategy, he highlighted a shift in campaign administration, where governorship campaign councils are now inaugurated in the respective states rather than in Abuja, fostering greater grassroots participation.
The chairman reaffirmed the party’s focus on reclaiming power in Anambra and Osun, noting that preparations for the APC primaries in Anambra were already underway. Additionally, he emphasized ongoing reconciliation efforts to unify aggrieved members.
