The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled plans to digitalize its membership registration nationwide.
The party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, confirmed this during a signing ceremony at the APC headquarters in Abuja, where the party formalized a contractual agreement with a consortium to implement the e-registration of its members.
Speaking after the ceremony, Ganduje noted that the initiative had been in the pipeline for a long time but had not been realized until now.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the transition to a digital membership system, which he believes will enhance party administration and engagement.
APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, assured that the party is financially independent and capable of funding the project.
He emphasized that having accurate and scientifically verified data is essential, particularly during elections, as it provides more reliable information for strategic planning.
Ganduje stressed that, as the ruling party, the APC recognizes the benefits of digitalization, especially given its vast number of supporters nationwide, however, without authentic data, the party has been relying on estimates. Therefore, he stated that it has become necessary to establish a concrete and well-structured data system in line with the party’s constitution.
“With this exercise we are sure of having a scientific data which we can always retrieve not during litigation sometime you may look for membership you get controversial membership list and that complicate your case in a court of law but with that E registration we can easily retrieve our authentic list”
Speaking, the Chairman Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodinma
thanked the Governors and the National working Committee of the party for their tireless efforts in supporting the party
He urged the state chairmen of the party APC to support the exercise for the party to be able to achieve the objective of having authentic and scientific data for its members nation wide to avoid being manipulated especially during elections.
