Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in ensuring the success of his policies and transformational reforms for the country’s socioeconomic development.
The Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodinma, made this commitment after a meeting with the party leadership and APC chairmen from the 36 states and the FCT.
Briefing journalists shortly after the meeting, Hope Uzodinma said the discussion focused on issues within the party across all states and fine-tuning the way forward.
He described the meeting as fruitful and used the opportunity to welcome four National Assembly members from Enugu State who defected from the Labour Party to the APC.
The Chairman added that plans have been finalized to receive nine more members from the Enugu State House of Assembly into the ruling APC, facilitated by the Minister of Science and Technology.
Hope believed that this was a testimony that Nigerians have began to see clearly how the policies of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu start to yield a meaningful result and begin to have confidence in his reforms and programmes despite the destructions, adding that the benefits of the reforms are gradually manifesting.
He explained that in the next couple of months when the results of such policies were clearly manifesting the entire Nigerians would see the wisdom of supporting Mr president in those initiatives
“The chairmen, all members, and leaders of the party, along with the Progressive Governors Forum, have also resolved to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure the success of his policies.”
When asked about the ongoing movements and meetings by the opposition party in preparation for the next elections, Hope Uzodinma stated that democracy is progressing, as opposition was a natural part of any democratic system.
He emphasized that whenever the opposition becomes active, it signifies a growing democracy. He further assured that APC members remain fully committed to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the party’s success.
