In line with Governor Umar Namadi’s vision for human capital development as outlined in his 12-point agenda, the Jigawa State Executive Council has established a 10-member committee to develop strategies for talent hunting to foster creativity and innovation among the state’s youth.
The State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed, disclosed this after the council meeting held in Dutse.

He said, the committee comprise of Commissioners of Health, Environment, Local Government while Commissioner of Higher Education would serve as Chairman.
Other members include Technical Advisers on ICT and Digital Economy, Higher Education, Agriculture, Director General Youth Empowerment and Employment Agency and Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.
Sagir Musa Ahmed said, Special Adviser on Technology and Innovation would serve as Secretary of the committee.
Similarly, the Council assigned 2 Weeks for the Committee to submit its reports.

He added that, the Council decision was aim at fostering a culture of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship among the state citizens especially the youths as presented by Ministry for Higher Education.
He further explained that, the council has approved the launching of a Special Citizen Engagement Programme as “Gwamnati da Jama’a” under the leadership Governor Malam Umar Namadi.
According to him, the initiative will be rolled out across all 27 Local Government Areas inform of Town Hall meeting with community members in each LGA to engage directly with the Governor and other government officials.
He pointed out that, the overall goal was to ensure that the people of the State were not only the beneficiaries of government projects and programmes but also active participants in shaping their future and remain well informed about the ongoing and planned projects by the state government.
The Commissioner said, the State Executive Council has approved the revitalization of 114 ward level Primary Health Care Centers across the State.
He said, the Council approved over 9.7 Billion Naira for the revitalization of the PHCs across the 27 Local Government Areas in the state under the
Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress for Accelerating Coverage and Transforming Services (IMPACT) Programme of the World Bank.
