At least 587 recruit constables for year 2022 passed out from police training school in Ilorin, Kwara state.
Speaking at the passing out of the recruit constables comprising those from Kwara and Kogi state, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun said the constables are part of the 10,000 police men earmarked for recruitment nationwide.
Represented by the state commissioner of Police, Mr. Victor Olaiya, the Inspector General said all the constables have been trained to work inline with modern policing.

He said it is the intention of the federal government to strengthen the police force through increase in the man power.
Mr Egbetokun explained that the young police officers are trained to contribute to nation building and reduce crime to the minimum.
He urged them to uphold integrity and discipline in the discharge of their duties.
The police boss advised them to shun corruption and any other act that may tarnish the image of the Police.



In his address, the governor of Kwara state, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Alhaji Muyideen Aliyu said the quality of training given to the police constables would enable them discharge their duties as expected.
He urged them to ensure adequate contribution to the growth and development of the country through effective policing.
In his remarks, the chairman Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu represented by Mrs Ladi Akubo said the recruitment of the police constables was done inline with section 153 of the 1999 of the constitution as amended.
She advised them to work hard in reducing the security challenges in the country.
On his part, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, represented by the Magaji A’are of Ilorin, Alhaji Aremu Zubairu, thanked the police authority for increasing the manpower of the police force.
He urged them to exercise their duties in line with international best practices.
In his comment, member representing Ajaokuta state constituency, Hon. Jibril Onimisi -Abu expressed joy with the successful training and passing out of the Police constables.
Earlier in his address, the commandant, Police Training School Ilorin, ACP Adamu Danjuma said all the recruit constables met the required standard set by the police authority.
He advised them to put all they have learnt into practice to ensure success of the Police force.
