To eradicate poverty and promote jobs and wealth creation, the Gwarzo local government council of Kano state has distributed N20,000 empowerment package to 500 youth and women in the area.

The chairman Interim management committee of the local government council, Dr Mani Tsohon Gwarzo explained that the council is empowering people through their businesses.

He noted that the council is committed to supporting women and youth to be self-reliant and productive for growth and development.

According to him, the council is complementing the efforts of the state governor, Engineer Abba Kabir on youth empowerment and poverty eradication.

“ We are optimistic that, this token amount of money is enough capital for Maikosa, Maiawara, Maishayi groundnut oil seller, other food vendors and petty traders, and if properly managed it will create more wealth “ Mani stated.

Representative of the state deputy governor, Alhaji Rabiu Sale Liliko charged the beneficiaries to make best use of the package to encourage the council to do more.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hajiya Kuluwa Garba from Jamaa ward and Sule. Danliti from Kara ward expressed their appreciation to the council over the gesture and promised judicious use of the package.
