Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has been commended for providing decent accommodation and nutritious meals as well as taking care of pilgrims in discharging their Hajj rites in Saudi Arabia.

A cross section of pilgrims who spoke to our correspondent in Makkah, said that the area where Kaduna pilgrims are accommodated is accessible and close to the Haram or Grand Mosque.

A pilgrim from Kaduna North Local Government, Hajiya Maryam Armiyau, said that the meals that they are being served are so plenty that most pilgrims can’t finish them, adding that the food is also delicious.

‘’Even though you can’t get what you want hundred percent like what is obtain in your home because of individual differences, but the meals are generally okay for most pilgrims,’’ she added.

Hajiya Maryam however advised Registration Officers not to register intending pilgrims that are old, without someone that will cater for their upkeep in Saudi Arabia.

‘’Some pilgrims are incapable of performing some aspects of the Hajj unaided because they are vigourous in nature. Officials used to help these category of pilgrims to perform such rites,’’ she pointed out.

Hajiya Maryam further advised that intending pilgrims should be allowed to come along with their prescribed medications or prescriptions, especially hypertensive patients and diabetics.

Also speaking, Alhaji Yasir Musa commended the quality and quantity of food that Kaduna State pilgrims are being given in Makkah.

‘’Alhamdullilah,  most of us don’t eat the kind of food that we are being served here, back home in Nigeria. We are being fed with Basmati rice, you know how much it costs in Nigeria and those who can afford it are very few. Our food comes with a large chunk of chicken parts. We are sometimes served Tuwo“. He said.

‘’For breakfast, pilgrims are given tea, a large piece of bread and three eggs. We are always given a balanced diet because each meal is accompanied with fruits like oranges, bananas or apples, ‘’ Alhaji Yasir added.

The pilgrim who hails from Kaduna South Local Government, praised the conduct of Kaduna Hajj officials for taking care of pilgrims’ welfare.

According to him, the officials have been up and doing in organising pilgrims, from the Hajj camp at Mando, down to Kaduna International Airport, up to Madina and Makkah, for a smooth Hajj operation.
