In continuation of the airlift of intending pilgrims in the country, the second batch of 550 Jigawa State prospective pilgrims is set to depart Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi International Airport for Madina.

A Radio Nigeria correspondent, who is also in the second batch, reports that the screening exercise was conducted peacefully and in an orderly manner both at the Hajj camp and the airport.

In an interview with the Director General of the Pilgrims board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo explained that, the intending pilgrims were from Jahun, Miga, Dutse, Kiyawa, Auyo, Kafin Hausa and Hadejia as well as Hajj Saving Scheme HSS and Government sponsored.

He called on the pilgrims to engage themselves into prayers and abide by the laid down rules of the Saudi authorities.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo prayed to Almighty Allah, to give them the strength to perform the hajj rites with ease.

He also called on them to be good ambassadors of the state and the country in general while at the holy land.

Some of the pilgrims who spoke to Radio Nigeria commended the officials of the board and security agencies for the conduct of the screening exercise.

Each pilgrim was given food and assorted drinks at the camp and airport before the commencement and after of the screening exercise.

Meanwhile, the state governor Umar Namadi also called on the pilgrims to pray for peace, unity and economic growth of the state and Nation while performing the spiritual rites in the Holy land.

The NAHCON had allocated 1,298 seats to jigawa state for the 2024 hajj exercise.
