Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has commissioned the newly constructed Primary Healthcare Centres at Unguwan Muazu in Kaduna South and Millennium City in Chikun Local Government.

The governor while inaugurating the centres said the event was part of the series of activities lined up to mark his administration’s one year in office.

Represented by the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, the governor emphasized that healthcare was one of the key priorities of the government, which is why his administration devoted 15.63% of this year’s budget to healthcare.

Our vision is to build healthy communities, where the poor and vulnerable have access to quality healthcare. Our administration is committed to strengthening the standard of care in the 290 Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs) across Kaduna State“.

Governor Uba Sani stressed that, the primary healthcare center inaugurated would ease the difficulties usually encountered by people in their search for quality and affordable healthcare.

In emergency situations, this primary healthcare center will provide immediate or alternative interventions/options and referrals, where necessary, as well as make adequate arrangement to provide preventive care. It will also impact on other social determinants of healthy outcomes in its immediate and surrounding communities.

He commended the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Development Board and other stakeholders for working together to ensure the speedy completion of the primary healthcare centers.

Uba Sani also urged members of the Unguwan Muazu community to take an interest in the security of the health center.

Similarly, the governor has also commissioned the Maternal, Child Nutrition, and Adolescent Healthcare Center at Gidan Daji, Millennium City, Chikun Local Government.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Sulaiman Shu’aibu Abdu, he revealed that the commissioning of the project was one of the critical steps toward fulfilling his promises to the people.

Governor Sani also said the project demonstrate it dedication to the decentralising primary health care by bringing health facility closer to the people.

This centre is equipped with good working facilities and highly trained professionals

He stated that the facility would provide a wide range of services including maternal child health care, immunization of common illnesses, prevention and treatment of malnutrition as well as health education.

According to him the services are essential for reducing infant and maternal mortality rate, preventing the strength of diseases and promoting overall health and wealth being in communities.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Primary Health Board, Dr Bello Yusuf Jamoh thanked Governor Uba Sani for the unwavering support and visionary leadership which has been instrumental in making sure the project come to a reality.

He stressed that the Primary Health care inaugurated was a testament to their commitment to ensuring that quality health is accessible to all particularly those underserved communities.

Dr Jamoh added that, their mission at the Kaduna State Primary Health Board was to build a resilient healthcare system that no one behind.

He said the new centres was part of their strategy to strengthening primary healthcare cares across the state by ensuring that every citizen have access to essential services close to home.
