The Emir of Gwandu, Rtd. Major General Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, has assured traditional leaders support to the Nigeria Immigration Service in ensuring borders security.

The Emir, who gave the assurance when he received on a courtesy visit the Comptroller General of the Immigration Service, Kemi Nnana Nandap in his Palace in Birnin Kebbi, described Nigeria as having uncontrollable borders with many roads and path ways.

While thanking the Comptroller General for the visit, the Royal Father urged her to be more proactive in the discharge of her duty as security is very important in every society.

He called on other security agencies to collaborate with the Nigeria Immigration Service in ensuring security of the country.

The Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nnana Nandap, told the Emir that, her visit to the state and the Palace was to seek for the Royal father’s blessing and support to ensure security in the border communities.

Kemi Nnana Nandap, described Kebbi State as very special to the Nigeria Immigration Service not because its bordering Niger and Benin Republics but having officers mounted on this borders to ensure security.

According to her, Kebbi State has two Borders Niger and Benin Republics, there is the need to have good working relationship with the people of the State and also border communities especailly in information gathering and sharing.
