General Officer Commanding three Division Nigeria army and Commander Operations Safe Haven Major General AE Abubakar says for people to achieve peace in the community they must tolerate one another.

Major General Abubakar stated this during a Meeting with critical stakeholders from Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas held at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment Jos.

Critical stakeholders from Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas including top Government officials and senior security officers of Nigeria army gathered at the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment Jos to find lasting Peace in the two local Governments.

While declaring the meeting open, the general Officer Commanding three Division Nigeria army and Commander Operations Safe Haven Major General AE Abubakar said the meeting was to address the recent attacks in some parts of Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas of Plateau State which affected lives and property.

Major General Abubakar noted that peace and security are critical for sustaining socio-economic activities in the state.

On the recent attacks on security agencies in the course of performing their responsibilities, Major General Abubakar said, they will no longer tolerate any act of lawlessness by any person.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang represented by the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs Ephraim Usman, assured that his administration is doing everything possible to reposition the State.

While sympathizing with families, and officers who lose their lives as a result of the attacks, Mutfwang appealed to the GOC to redeploy security agencies to Plateau State University Bokkos to avert any future attacks on the Institution.

In their separate remarks, the Representative of Chairman JNI Muhammad Sambo Haruna and State CAN chairman Very Reverend Father Polycarp Lubo called on their subject to support security agencies towards achieving peace in the state.

Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area Markus Artur and his counterpart from Bokkos Monday Kassah all promised to continue to support the GOC to bring back the lost glory of the affected communities.

Stakeholders from the two Local Government Areas in their separate contributions described the meeting as apt considering the importance of peace towards nation building.
