Christians Join Muslims At Kaduna Eid Ground To Strengthen Peace

A renowned Christian cleric in Kaduna State, Pastor Yohanna Buru says the nation’s full potential can only be realized through collaborative efforts of both Muslims and Christians residing within and outside the country by embracing peace, unity and love for the overall development of the nation.

Pastor Buru who is the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry Kaduna stated this, when he led a delegation of Christians to the Murtala Mohammed Square praying ground, with the aim of fostering peace, unity, and religious tolerance among different faith-based groups in the country.

He reiterated the call for both Muslims and Christians to cultivate a culture of peace and harmony by sharing humanity and the commonality of their holy books.

Pastor Yohanna Buru who pointed out that, the significance of such gatherings was an opportunities for Christians to engage in dialogue and interact with other faiths with a view to promote interreligious tolerance, peace, stability, and mutual understanding.

The Christian clergy extended his felicitation to Islamic scholars and leaders particularly the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, Sheikh Ahmed Mahmud Gumi, and Sheikh Halliru Maraya among others on the occasion of Eid-fitr.

In response, Sheikh Halliru Marayu was one of the prominent Islamic scholars present at the Eid ground, expressed delight over the visit of the Christians and emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians.

Sunusi pointed that Pastor yohanna Buru was honored in 2022 by king of Jordan Abdallah as the best winner world interfaith Harmony.

The presence of notable figure such as former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Ramalan Yero, top Islamic scholars, and traditional title holders, added to the significance of the occasion.
