The Nigerian Airforce says airstrikes by the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji on April 10 have led to the elimination of several terrorists and their structures in Zamfara State.

This follows carefully conducted observation missions over the camps of terrorist kingpins, Abdullahi Nasanda in Zurmi LGA and Mallam Tukur’s camp in Gusau LGA.

In a statement by Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet says Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission conducted on Abdullahi Nasanda’s camp reveals terrorists’ activities around some huts and thatched roof structures, with some of their motorcycles observed hidden on trees.

The statement explains that the location was struck by multiple aircraft passes, thereby neutralising several terrorists, having established that their activities were consistent with terrorists’ modes of operation.

Similar ISR missions were conducted at Mallam Tukur camp, where terrorists’ activities were also observed. Airstrikes conducted on the camp neutralized several terrorists and showed several structures set ablaze and destroyed.

The statement adds that airstrikes were also extended to Kani Kawa in Maradun town, where terrorists, their enclaves and equipment were attacked and destroyed.
