Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zone A, comprising the Northwestern states of Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara has extended its sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his generous Ramadan welfare package of 700 bags of 5KG rice for members.

This is contained in a statement to journalists by the union’s Zonal Secretary, Comrade Abdulrazak Bello Kaura, indicating that the gesture is being facilitated by the Office of the National Security Adviser through the Special Assistant to the President on Print Media.

Comrade Abdulrazak Bello Kaura pointed out that this Ramadan welfare initiative underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to supporting the welfare of journalists in the region.

Each state council within NUJ Zone A received 100 bags of rice, ensuring equitable distribution among members.

The NUJ Zonal office took charge of coordinating the transportation and distribution of the rice to ensure timely delivery to journalists across the region.

Vice President of NUJ Zone A, Malam Tukur Muhammad Umar, expressed gratitude on behalf of the union, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to President Tinubu for this generous gesture. This contribution demonstrates his recognition of the vital role journalists play in society and his commitment to their well-being.”

Emphasizing the significance of this welfare package, the NUJ Zonal office highlighted that it was the first time journalists in the region received direct support from the presidency.

The office urged President Tinubu to continue including journalists in welfare packages, enabling them to enjoy the dividends of democracy under the current administration.

NUJ Zone A reaffirmed its commitment to serving its members and expressed appreciation for the continued support of President Tinubu and the Nigerian government.
