Senate Confirms 45 Ministerial Nominees

Senate has concluded the screening of 45 of the 48 ministerial nominees submitted by President Bola Tinubu.

The upper chamber on Monday confirmed the nominees as Ministers following a week of intense grilling for some and cursory introductions for others.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio put the nominations to a series of voice votes, of which three are said to still be undergoing security clearance, such as former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai; Stella Okotete (Delta State), and Abubakar Danladi (Taraba State).

The nominees confirmed as Ministers are as follows;

1. Akwa Ibom: Ekperikpe Ekpo

2. Bayelsa: Heineken Lolokpobri

3. Cross Rivers: Betta Edu

4 Cross River: John Owan Enoh

5. Delta: Stella Okotete (Not yet )

6 . Delta: Festus Keyamo

7. Edo: Abubakar Momoh

8. Rivers: Nyesom Wike

9. Adamawa: Tahir Mamman

10. Bauchi: Yusuf Maitama Tuggar

11. Bauchi: Ali Pate

Meanwhile the nomination of Festus Keyamo was confirmed following his apologies to the lawmakers for the allegation he leveled against National Assembly members on the issue of N52 billion meant for the implementation of 774,000 Special Public Works Programme.
